Salary: ₹4 - ₹8 Lakhs/Annum Expected

Description:

Cognizant is hiring a Systems Engineer specializing in desktop and device management for its IT infrastructure operations in Bangalore. Operating in a hybrid work ecosystem, this role focuses on securing, provisioning, and stabilizing the global corporate endpoint fleet. You will execute daily operations involving unified endpoint configuration management, operating system deployment (OSD), and compliance policy monitoring. The technical scope bridges traditional localized infrastructure tools with modern cloud-based endpoint systems to enforce configuration baselines, reduce incident queues, and roll out security patches across diverse hybrid teams running on rotational shift calendars.

Key Technologies:

SCCM, Intune, Windows, MDT

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of professional hands-on experience in desktop management, endpoint patch management, or a systems engineering role.
  • Practical experience administering Microsoft Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM). Competency managing collection groups, modifying OSD task sequences, distributing applications, monitoring client health indicators, and executing scheduled monthly security patch deployments.
  • Direct experience configuring Microsoft Intune device management policies for Windows endpoints. Proven capability building configuration baselines, deploying compliance profiles, managing device enrollment methods (e.g., Windows Autopilot), and ensuring endpoint data protection.
  • Functional competency building, updating, and deploying standardized Windows operating system images using the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and related automated provisioning systems to streamline hardware refresh lifecycles.
  • Solid technical knowledge of enterprise Windows OS configurations, registry structural overrides, performance profiling, and remote connectivity network configurations (VPN, wireless LAN profiles).
  • Awareness of foundational cybersecurity principles, using SCCM compliance rules and Intune endpoint security modules to implement system hardening and restrict threat vectors.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills to systematically troubleshoot broken endpoint installations, partner with service desk desks to monitor incoming ticket trends, and draft standard operational runbooks (SOPs).
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, clear communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and complete comfort supporting hybrid work patterns under dynamic rotational shift schedules.
  • Active Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102) designation or an equivalent authenticated framework qualification focusing explicitly on SCCM, Intune, and Windows client endpoints.
